![]() | Remembering Simon - We lost a friend. Simon Linder passed away on a Wednesday morning in May 2011. He both worked at Perfect Ash and spent many an hour there with friends (and everyone was a friend of Simons). He is survived by wife, Stefany; his mother, Lynne; and brother, Marc (Kelly and children). He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Death whispers in our ear, "live, for I am coming." Simon faced death more bravely than most face life, and truly lived as if each day could be his last, for that was his reality. He did not complain about the cards he'd been dealt, but rather he played the hand and played it well. Reckless, profane, crazy, strange, and irreverant all well-describe Simon. But so do kind, caring, loving and incredibly inspirational. It was once said that though a man would die a pauper he would be considered rich, indeed, if someone were to tell his story. Simon's story (and stories of Simon) will be told and retold by anyone who ever met him; by friends, family, and even strangers, forever and ever. Thoreau wrote, "most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them." Simon sang his song every day. He sang it loud and proud. Sometimes a bit off key, sometimes a bit hard to understand, but he was not the "most men" of which Thoreau spoke. He was not a big guy, but he was larger than life. He was, quite simply, just Simon. Memorials preferred to the family: 1757 Bluebill Drive, Eagan, MN 55122. |
